Post-OpINSTRUCTIONS
Chewing Precautions:
Avoid chewing for at least two hours post-extraction or until anesthesia wears off to prevent accidental biting or injury.
Ice Pack Application:
Apply an ice pack externally to reduce swelling during the first 48 hours.
Wound Care:
Avoid touching the extraction site with your tongue or fingers to prevent irritation and infection.
Straw Usage:
Do not drink through a straw for at least 24 hours, as suction can dislodge the blood clot necessary for healing.
Sneezing and Nose Blowing:
Avoid forceful sneezing or nose blowing, especially after upper tooth extractions, to prevent disruption of the healing site.
Oral Hygiene:
Do not rinse your mouth on the day of surgery. Resume gentle brushing and flossing the next day, avoiding the extraction site.
Smoking:
Refrain from smoking or using tobacco products for at least 48 hours to promote proper healing.
Physical Activity:
Rest and avoid strenuous activities for the first 24 hours to minimize bleeding and aid recovery.
Diet
Maintain a soft diet for the first 48 hours, gradually reintroducing solid foods as the extraction site heals.
